I am a technical communicator and a writing teacher — a tech-er. I teach writing at Harold Washington College — one of the City Colleges of Chicago. There, I am an Assistant Professor of English.
I am critical of science and technology. I research in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). And my research is critical of technology in healthcare spaces, especially physiological monitors in NICUs. I endorse rhetorical listening as an operationalized researcher’s method to advocate for participants during field research.
I served as an editorial assistant for Technical Communication Quarterly from 2011-2013. I have also worked as a consultant for not-for-profits in healthcare. If you have questions about my teaching, researching, or consulting, I encourage you to contact me or read more about my qualifications in my CV.
